History

The Asian Docs Co-production Network Project originated at the 6th DMZ International Documentary Film Festival in September 2014. Recognizing a need for deeper cross-cultural collaboration, veteran documentary filmmaker and Korea National University of Arts professor Kim Dong Won initiated the project to inspire dialogue among the next generation of filmmakers. Rooted in Asia's rich cinematic tradition, the initiative has grown into a thriving hub for forums, student showcases, and experimental co-productions. After a decade of collective efforts, it remains dedicated to redefining documentary filmmaking as both an art form and a catalyst for societal change.
